Cappadocia Travel Diary
Cappadocia is a truly mystical destination that will transport you to a world of fairy chimneys and colourful hot air balloons. The unique landscape of towering rock formations, carved out by volcanic eruptions and erosion, make for a breathtaking experience. The highlight of any trip to Cappadocia is undoubtedly the hot air balloon ride at dawn, where you can witness the sunrise over the fairy chimneys from high above. With its rich history, delectable cuisine, and hospitable locals, Cappadocia is a must-visit destination for a magical experience.
For an immersive experience, I highly recommend staying in a cave hotel, such as the Aydinli Cave Hotel, where I stayed. The hotel's unique architecture, built into the soft volcanic rock, provided a cozy and comfortable stay, and features like the underground wine cellar and traditional Turkish sauna make it a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploration. The local beer, Efes, and Cappadocian wine, are highly recommended drinks to try with the local cuisine. And last but not least, visiting the underground city is an unreal experience that provides a unique and fascinating way to learn about the history and culture of the region. So, be sure not to miss it!
